To Avoid Giving Characters Specific Ages

I'm really distracted by the "decade since the Exodar crash" at the beginning, given Blizzard's tendency to squish the timeline in official sources, rather than draw it out. Even if the official timeline hasn't been updated since 2007,  Buying world of warcraft account the stories and novels have been pretty clear on things like Anduin's aging to mark time passage since end of BC/beginning of Wrath until now (and consider that pre-LK Arthas met his friend Varian's infant son, too). That whole thing with "one year of lore time between expacs" still annoys me, since the two-ish years real time we keep ending up with isn't that bad. Even in real time, it's more like a half decade. ;) The unofficial timeline cited in that KYL post at the time tended to draw timelines out just a tad too far, I think.

I'm less annoyed by new night elves claiming to have grown up on Teldrassil though, as now in game, yeah, a young child could have spent most of their formative years into young adulthood there, WoW accounts for sale especially if we use real time of WoW's activity (and it started canonically 4 years post-Hyjal, making it something like 10-12 years!) instead of compressed "official timeline."

Either way though, with the mess of Warcraft's canon and timeline issues, "close enough" is usually good, and why I try to avoid giving characters specific ages ("late teens" "early 20s" "middle aged" "young adult" is often what I go with, especially in non-Human/drastically different lifespan having races we don't have a lot of age lore on--like draenei).

On the topic of the guild spotlighted here, it sounds pretty awesome. I love my draenei characters! I have a mage, a shaman I rarely play, and a new monk I am loving to pieces; finding stories for them is a lot of fun. One of my RP guilds has quite a few draenei, and we've tried an all or mostly draenei guild before on my server; lack of defined lore at the time (and this was in BC!) made it hard for some people. If I ever poke my head into Wyrmrest, I'd love to give Kharanei a look, even just to interact socially.

I like to go with Velen being super special in his connection to the naaru, and other draenei are long lived due to the Light and their inherent magic, but "immortal" is not something I tend to like.

New draenei characters come out of a stasis pod at the start of their zone; with running away from Legion over the centuries, resources gotta be tight and keeping people safe is a big thing, so put some people in stasis for a time; maybe that's how folks from Argus are still alive? World of Warcraft accounts Depends on how literal the idea of Sargeras offering power and immortality to the original Eredar is, too.

See, now you guys got me musing on timelines and draenei lore.

The Quotes of WOW

I am as (potentially) excited over this new feature as anyone who has been dying for them to address the population problem, but in the interest of serving as a voice of caution, please let me share two fairly recent Blizzard Blue comments with you:
" ... WoW accounts cheap  yesterday we discussed low-population and faction-imbalanced realms with our developers. They have some pretty bold and spectacular plans for addressing this in anticipation of implementing some of the features we plan to in Mists. buy cheap WoW account  I just don’t have a lot of information to share with you at this stage of programming and development."
"[This will be] the first step toward improving the play experience when leveling on a low-population server. Sell WoW account The world will be more populated, opening up the possibility for you to make BattleTag friends who you can then invite on future adventures. World of Warcraft is meant to be a massively multiplayer role-playing game, so we want to give players on lower population realms access to a larger community to play with."
The first quote was from February 2012, the second from late September 2012, and the topic of each was, of course, CRZ.
For better or for worse, I think we all know how well CRZ was greeted by the community.
I offer this because all we're reacting to is the potential of this fix, and everyone (myself included, below) seems to be getting overly excited over this most-welcome idea!  Personally, I will choose to remain cautiously excited without solid expectation.  It would be a shame for everyone to get their hopes skyrocketed, only to sink back into disappointment, QQ and rage when/if it proves to be less-than-perfect.
CR play was welcomed by those who had more than 2 brain cells. It was just the start of a fully integrated cross server game play.It was feared by the many WoW haters who drove some easy manipulated players into no mans land. But of course ... Now in the end ... It turned out as I predicted in patch 5.4 an eternal populated Azeroth, independant of population problems ...
Blizzard is MILES above the rest of the mmo bunch with this superb technology.
1.  Those unhappy with the CRZ glitches and problems are/were not WoW haters, they were CRZ haters.
2.  5.4 is months out from release and just released into the limited test environment within the last 24 hours.  Far too early to be calling this one a success (hell even GC said it mightn't appear in September).
3.  Perhaps someone out there is/was aware of or cares about your predictions and proclamations, but my guess is that no one is tracking the history associated with BenBosmans on WI.  Congrats on patting yourself on the back for a premature bit of public self-love, though!
4.  This is the exact same thing that most every single MMO on the market is already delivering, rather than Blizzard being "MILES" ahead of the rest, this is Blizzard playing catch-up.  Finally.
5.  Please do not mistake my responses here as Blizzard hate, WoW hate, or even BenBosmans hate (I think this might be the first time I've ever interacted with you, I've never seen you on here that I can recall).  Just sayin.

Very Interesting on RP Realms

Personal drama among roleplayers is incredibly common and often extremely bitter.
The usual solution is to move around from realm to realm,WoW money usually as a re-roll but sometimes as a transfer.

Now all of those people they've been transferring to get away from are going to be a part of their shiny new virtual realm. I do hope they merger all the RP realms together!  Maybe a lot of the roleplayer's will learn to play together instead of trying to force their own personal stories down everyone elses throats.sell WoW accounts
I don't like the mentality of a lot of Purist RPers play as. If i come back to WoW in 5.4 this would kill it for me. Keeping RP-PvP and RP Pure servers seperate would be tantamount for the RP community .
I know a Vanilla guild that just paid to mass-transfer from a dead PVP realm to a more active one.  It was a long, difficult, annoying process and incredibly expensive for those involved - and many had to leave characters behind.

They aren't going to be very happy when they see this, I imagine. that's exactly what our guild just did , same thing happened. we are happy in our new home with all the activity but I have  just a little bit of buyers regret (just a little) I wonder if they moved to a different server in the same battlegroup, though? Even with the new system implemented, they might have had to transfer outside the virtual group. Kinda assuming here that the existing battlegroups will be taken into account.

It was a cash grab all along, even before this was discovered.
Keep in mind that Blizzard hasn't announced this, it was simply datamined and word got out.  May or may not make it into the actual 5.4 patch, and it may or may not even WORK once it is released ..WoW accounts for sale.
I think we should wait until we know how it actually works before jumping to conclusions. This is usually how false rumors and hype begins. i agree all the details are not fleshed out, but it doesnt change the fact that we just xferred a large guild from a low pop server during a sale, spent a significant amount of money and then mere days after the sale ends they announce their plan to fix population balances... might not have spent the money on top of the money i already spend every month to play. Not starting any rumors just venting frustration with the facts.

The Enchantments Change of WoW

No big changes for the classes i play most (monk, hunter, healer priest)... i was kinda expecting disc to get nerfed to the ground Buy WoW Accounts
Virtual realms is cool, tho i expect that my region (RU) will have it delayed like every other xrealm feature, my server still has no working XRZ and xrealm grouping is borked 90% of the time.Sell World of Warcraft Accounts
For a moment after reading about the new features I just wore a big stupid grin.
Have wanted Proving Grounds ever since I heard of it. Combined with the flexiraids and the virtual servers this looks like an excellent patch.
Okay, this makes me happy.WoW accounts for sale... but there is one other thing they could do.... re-give Intemitadion back as BM only too.
Silencing Shot is no longer a talent and is now an ability for Marksman Hunters.
Marksman
Binding Shot is no longer a Marksman Hunter ability and is once again a talent.
I hope this goes a long way to fix server issues. Good call Blizz.
As for the title I call bollocks for titles having to have 3 people from the same realm for challenge modes. I found a great group and have 7 of the 9 fastest times for challenge modes. Am I just S.O.L. now?
It is because the fastest times are done BY REALM - only fair that at least 3 of the group need to be FROM that realm imo - sucks for you, and is a shame, but I do agree that as it is 'best in realm' the majority of the group SHOULD be from that realm - the same way I need at least 8/10 raid members to be from my guild to get guild achie.
Proving Grounds! :D :D :D You have no idea how much I've been waiting for this!
I like the sound of Virtual Realms - since CRZ isn't going away, I think VR's better than no VR. (Hopefully it won't cause any new issues like the freezing when crossing zone boundaries.) And yay for essentially removing the 11 characters per realm issue, as someone mentioned on the VR-specific post!
I don't play a Fury Warrior, but I'm so happy for you guys re: polearms :)
The item enchantment thing is interesting. I think I like it. It will probably mean that the... I think it's Wrath gems that already have no ilevel requirement and people put them in BC equipment for awesome stats. That probably won't work any more, because they'll scale down. But I'm not in that market, so it doesn't affect me.

World of Warcraft Down to Eight Million Subscribers

What kind of idiot in china or korea would play WoW when they have BnS? I am WoW fan boy and I buy WOW accounts and buy WOW gold once, but honestly BnS has more to offer than WoW and i don't see why people will continue to play WoW in eastern market. teh decline in eastern market is no doubt due to BnS. good for them and i think it is wake up call for WoW too, entire year kept suggesting to improve visual quality of characters/npc/mosnters, keep the cartoony look but improve it and make it look more real like pixar or disney animated cartoons. but no they don't want to, even though ghostcrawler admitted that current game engine is capable of miraculous graphical changes they are not going to do that because people are happy the way they are now. moronic fanboys and their blind money sinking really pisses me off.

Deferred revenue has nothing to do with transfers, that goes into cash.  deferred revenue is subscription time that hasnt been used up.  Most likely current months sub revenue + multi month subs.  Im not one of their accouttants so I don't really know for sure the complete makeup of that account, but by definition instant account transfers can't be deferred revenue.

i guess they may have to cut food...after 10 years, this number is beyond their wildest dreams and they will not produce any new mmo game (e.g. titan) before wow drops at least to 1-2m subs. so 8m subs after 10 years, unfortunately for who ever waits a new mmo from blizz, is still a huge number

They tried to merge but moronic oafs on those servers refused merger as it will "hurt their server pride". people like them really pisses me off.
